Can general dentists do bone grafts?

I am a 36 year old male. I want to know if general dentists can do bone grafts?

Absolutely! It depends on the scope of each and individual dentist. But as a General Dentist I feel very comfortable Extracting and doing bone Grafting.

Some general dentists are capable of doing bone grafts, however, specialists like periodontists and oral surgeons are usually kore capable as it falls within their scope of practice.

A general dentist can do bone grafts, as long as they have had the proper training.
Only after extensive extra training and depending on the severity of the bone defect and the difficulty of the procedure. Preferably, a specialist, like an oral surgeon or a periodontist, who are specially trained in bone grafting, should be consulted for a bone graft procedure. Ask your general dentist to refer you to a specialist to evaluate your bone graft needs.
