Yes. Healing is slower and there is more chance for periodontal issues to develop. Good home care and frequent dental checkups are a must.
Very definitely. Diabetics need to pay more attention to dental hygiene and periodontal disease. See a dentist for inspection and cleaning twice a year. At home, brush at least twice a day and floss between teeth.
