Can heart arrhythmia be fixed?

I was diagnosed with heart arrhythmia. Can heart arrhythmia be fixed?

You ask a question that many patients often ask. Irregular heartbeats or arrhythmias are common. All should be evaluated, but not all need treatment. In order to answer your individual question, I need to know more about the irregular heartbeat you are experiencing and if you have other heart problems that might make you more likely to have irregular heart beats. Are these beats that you feel (have symptoms from) or were they found when you had a test such as an ekg or monitor of your heart rhythm? Where these beats originate in the heart (top of the heart or atrium versus the bottom of the heart or ventricle) are questions your health care provider can answer. Are they always present or do these beats come and go? With this information, you and your doctor can look at what additional testing might be required and if treatment is needed how best to treat. This might be medication or a procedure inside the heart to stop arrhythmias. This treatment is performed by doctors with special training in this field called electrophysiologists or heart electricians for short. Hope this helps Let me know if you have any additional questions.
