Can lower back pain cause pain in my rectum?

Can lower back pain cause pain in my rectum? My lower back pain also causes numbness in my upper thighs, and sometimes pain in one foot. Any advice will help. Thanks!

The first answer would be yes. If you have a disc in your back that is herniated or extruded, it can irritate any of the nerves that go to your legs, thighs, feet, or buttocks and rectum.
Of course, there are other causes of these problems and a complete examination and review of symptoms would be indicated to determine the cause of your symptoms.

Some causes of low back pain, such as sacroiliitis, can include rectal pain and thigh pain from sciatic nerve irritation. Treatment may include heat, stretches, injection, and radio frequency ablation or, in extreme cases, fusion of the joints. Recommend consultation with a pain management specialist.
