Can radiation shrink an enlarged prostate?

I have an enlarged prostate and want to fix it. Can radiation shrink an enlarged prostate?

The short answer is yes. But deepening on if the enlargement is due to benign or malignant reasons. Obviously if malignant then probably more significantly. But overall, I would guess about 20-30%. in addition, hormones help.
The answer is yes; however, radiation is not indicated for management of benign prostatic hypertrophy (an enlarged prostate gland). It is used only in the treatment of cancer of the prostate gland.
