Can scoliosis be fixed without surgery?

I have scoliosis and want to treat it. Can scoliosis be fixed without surgery?

Chiropractic cannot fix a scoliosis, however it can help manage the symptoms. Most care plans treating scoliosis are centered around strengthening the supporting muscles, core strength, and pelvic stability to help alleviate the symptoms of a scoliosis. However the degree of curvature and age of the patient plays a large role in determining treatment plans.
The answer to your questions is tricky. Scoliosis can be helped with bracing. There are a few chiropractors that specialize in this treatment. The success depends on how bad the scoliosis is.
No, it cannot be fixed without surgery. Scoliosis usually starts in adolescence and if it is severe bracing or surgery would be needed. Scoliosis by itself is usually not painful but cosmetically it may be a source of ridicule. Surgery means putting rods in after surgical straightening procedures to hold the new position. This is a major surgery even for the neurosurgeons or the Orthopedists who perform it regularly. The risks should match the benefits.
Treated yes, fixed is a loaded question.
Scoliosis can be helped without surgery in many cases. Sometimes, Surgery becomes necessary if it is severe enough and is causing organ pressure and subsequent organ function problems like difficulty breathing. Many people though can be helped with specific Chiropractic treatment and specific exercises for Scoliosis. I have many before and after X-rays of patients that I have treated that have to straighten up their Scoliosis significantly. No Doctor can promise you a “cure”, but yes there are other types of treatments other than Surgery for Scoliosis in many cases.
