Can you get an infection from wearing contacts?

I am a 25 year old male. I want to know if you can get an infection from wearing contacts?

Yes, absolutely. Contact lens wear increases the risk of eye infections significantly. With proper lens hygiene though, you should be safe. Replace lenses as recommended, usually weekly or biweekly. Disinfect nightly and do not sleep in the lenses. Any pain or redness, remove lenses immediately and see your eye doctor.
I hope this helps you.

Absolutely.

Definitely, especially if you over wear them, as in wear them longer than they are intended to be worn, or never clean them, or exercise poor hand hygiene
Absolutely. See your ophthalmologist. SO
If contact lenses are not worn or cleaned properly they might cause infection, irritation, and pain.
Yes
Yes, one can have a contact related infection of the eye, more specifically called a corneal ulcer. This is a vision threatening condition that can cause permanent visual loss. If you are being prescribed contact lenses, make sure you discuss proper contact lens hygiene with your eye care professional.
