Anxiety can be overwhelming for kids. The most important thing is acknowledging that the fear feels real to them. Once you've acknowledged that feeling you can help them identify if the danger is real or a false alarm. You can create a list of coping skills with your child so they have a menu of tricks to try when they start to feel worried. This can include things like listening to music, taking deep/slow breaths, counting to 10, reminding themselves that they are safe etc.
Yes! I mainly provide cognitive behavioral therapy that helps children understand their thoughts and situations that provoke anxiety, and teach them coping skills to manage anxiety. Also being able to acknowledge situations that may be more teiggering
