Can you wear contacts for myopia?

I was diagnosed with myopia. I don't want to wear glasses. Can you wear contacts for myopia?

Myopia is the most common reason patients wear contact lenses.
You can definitely wear contact lenses for nearsightedness which is called myopia. There are numerous time-based contact lenses available including daily, weekly, 2-week lenses, and monthly lenses. You will need a fitting in order to see what fits your eyes and what you are comfortable with based upon your personal, professional, and recreational needs. You should be provided with trial lenses to try for a period of time, as well as being educated concerning the proper insertion, removal, solution use, and time to use and discard your lenses. If you were happy with the eye doctor who determined that you have myopia, I would get back to them for a follow up concerning your interest in wearing contact lenses. Good luck and best wishes.
Yes, you can absolutely wear contact lenses for myopia! Kindest regards, Tiffani B. Jackson, OD
there are contacts that correct for myopia. You can talk to your eye doctor to see if they would be an appropriate tool for you to see clearly.

Absolutely! There are a variety of correction options beside glasses that can correct or myopia. They include day time contacts, over night contacts (also know as Ortho-K) and refractive surgeries such as LASIK.
