Chances of Transmission

Basically I had sex with someone who was HSV2 positive but I used a condom and they also said they take medicine so they can’t transmit it but I’ve read up on it and I hear it’s still possible to be transmitted. I have no symptoms at the moment, it’s been about a week and a half. Should I be concerned or am I in the clear? I’ll obviously get tested but I hear it’s best to wait 12-16 weeks.

You can always get HSV from oral sex or anal/ vaginal sex
the person could not have given you HSV but your prior partners may have - most people carry it and do not wish to inform you due to the stigma AND / OR they dont even know they carry it

BEst is to get following test
HSV 1 and HSV 2 Igg and Igm antibody in your blood
thanks
Thanks for the question. If your partner was taking antiherpetic medication at the time of contact, your risk is less than 1 %. You can have a serology test now and at 4-6 weeks after exposure, and culture if you have visible lesions at contact sites.
