Colon & Rectal Surgeon Questions Colon and Rectal Surgeon

Chronic constipation?

I have been constipated for three weeks now will very little stool movement and when I do get stool movement it's like rabbit pellets with lots of gas. I bought some gummies with fiber last week and they are helping a little I have been taking them for three days now. I have been getting my colonoscopy done regularly my last one was two years ago with one bad pallet. All of my other tests have come back clean. My next visit is 5/16/2023.

The fiber tablets you’re taking is a bulk laxative. Meaning that it is intended for solid stools. Do you need a laxative in order to move it through. I would speak with my gastroenterologist or my primary care physician about altering the fiber tablets and or adding a laxative that would be able to make it go to the bathroom as opposed to forming hardware stores only. I hope that helps and please contact your provider for further information.
