Covid vaccine and cold?

Hi! I am scheduled to get my Covid-19 booster shot today. I have had a very slight sore throat and a small cough this week. I got tested for Covid and it was negative. The doctor said it's probably just a cold or bug going around. Is it okay for me to still get the shot today since I am negative for covid? I really want to have it before the holidays.
