A dark lump on your hip that is painful, hard, and has grown over time could be due to a few different things, such as:

Cyst: A non-cancerous bump filled with fluid or material, which can sometimes get infected and become painful.
Lipoma: A benign, soft lump of fat tissue, though usually not painful.
Abscess: A painful, swollen area filled with pus, often from infection.
Skin cancer: Though less common, any new, painful, or changing lump should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.
It’s important to have a healthcare provider, such as a dermatologist, examine it to get an accurate diagnosis and determine if any treatment is necessary.

Hello there! It looks like an inflamed nodule. I recommend see a physician/dermatologist that can evaluate, and if needed, biopsy and diagnose this skin condition so appropriate treatment can be given!
