Day surgery?

I've been told I need to go for day surgery for my ear and was wondering do I need a dressing gown and slippers as people have said? Do I need them as you walk down to the operating theatre? Can I keep my slippers and dressing gown on in the surgery with the hospital gown or wear socks or do you have to take shoes and socks off?

This depends on the hospital procedure and protocols, but yes, take a gown and slippers with you. You normally wear the gown and socks provided by the hospital prior to surgery and immediately after.
Most day surgery facilities will supply you with a hospital gown robe and socks to go in and out of the OR (operating room) in. It is advisable to go in comfortable clothes that you can get in and out of easily to go home in.
Call the surgery center and ask.
