Dermatologist Second Opinion Please- Very Itchy Rash

This rash started on my left thigh/hip area on 10/16/22, and is still present but not as itchy in this location and seems to be doing better. A new area started on my lower back very itchy starting 11/10 and same rash pattern appeared 11/13/22. They are very small itchy bumps and in one local area. There is no discharge, pustules, crusting, etc. Both started itching in the areas a few days, then bumps appeared after 2-3 days. First area continued to het a little larger/more bumps each day. Just very extremely itchy. Saw a dermatologist today and diagnosed me with nummular dermatitis. When I got home I was researching the condition and it looks nothing like that nor symptoms are completely different so trying to get another opinion. Also, just tested positive on ANA testing and waiting for further Rheumatology work up for other Autoimmune diseases.

It sounds like you have an itchy rash that started on your thigh and later appeared on your lower back. You saw a dermatologist who said it might be nummular dermatitis, but after researching, you feel it doesn't quite match. Since you tested positive for ANA (a test for autoimmune diseases), you might need to see a specialist to check if an autoimmune condition is causing the rash.

If you’re unsure, it's a good idea to get a second opinion from a rheumatologist to explore other possible causes. In the meantime, your doctor might give you treatments to help with the itching.
