I am a 33 year old male. I want to know if electric toothbrushes get rid of plaque?

No. You must visit your dental hygienist to have them physically remove the plaque. You can use an electric toothbrush to help reduce the buildup that turns to plaque but it will not remove what is there. Only a licensed dental hygienist or dentist can do that.
Both manual and electric toothbrushes get rid of plaque however an electric toothbrush is more effective. Just make sure you are using proper brushing techniques with both and changing out your toothbrush head every three months.
