Cataract surgery is very common. It is understandable to be afraid, but surgeons are very capable of taking care of your eyes. Patients typically do not feel anything during cataract surgery.
Cataract surgery is usually mildly uncomfortable, but not painful. If you feel pain during the surgery, you can notify the surgeon and they can give you medicine.
Most patients report little to no discomfort in cataract surgery.
Good morning! Thanks for your question.

Cataract surgery is almost always quick and painless. Provided there are no complications, most patients are shocked at how quick and painless it is. Post op, patients should expect to be on eye drops for at least 2-3 weeks.

You should be under anaesthesia . Sometimes , it’s conscious sedation. So you shouldn’t feel any pain . If you feel pain , it means your surgeon hasn’t numbed you well
