I will have a colonoscopy. Do you get pain medications for a colonoscopy?

Good morning, There is usually no need for pain medications after colonoscopy.
Pain medications are typically not prescribed after colonoscopy, but you may receive some during the procedure, as a sedative and analgesic.
No, just anesthesia for the procedure.
Most patients opt for sedation during colonoscopy; it's not painful, but may be uncomfortable (with the caveat that we all have different definitions/thresholds of pain). I remained awake for my 3 colonoscopies: prep was worse than procedure!
