“Do you go to a psychiatrist for anxiety?”
I have anxiety and want to treat it. Do you go to a psychiatrist for anxiety?

That would depend entirely on how debilitating the anxiety is, and whether it stops you from doing what you love to do. Does it impair you vocationally or in the context of connection and interpersonal relationships? If this is the case, then it might be worth consulting with a psychiatrist or a psychologist.
Yes, or to any qualified mental health practitioner: a clinical social worker, a psychologist; an experienced mental health counselor. Most important is to choose a knowledgeable person whom you like! Peace, Marian K. Shapiro, Ed.D. Licensed Psychologist
