“Do you need a CT scan before a bone graft surgery?”
I will have bone graft surgery. Do you need a CT scan before a bone graft surgery?

It’s not absolutely necessary, but that is a best practice for planning because the anstomy can viewed in 360 degrees. It allows shorter surgery times and improves the outcome of the procedure.
Yes, we definitely need to take CBCT for future planning of implant placement, so that we can know the thickness and the height of the bone. CBCT is a three dimension image, which betters planning for implant placement in the future.
Not necessarily. If it’s completely evident that you have no bone in the area where an implant is to be placed I do not take a CT, unless it’s going to help me with a decision on how to perform the surgery. I usually wait until my graft is healed and then perform the CT scan. This will allow me to figure out what size implant to place.
