Nephrologist (Kidney Specialist) Questions

Does Marijuana affect your kidneys?

I have stage 3 kidney disease. I can't get my hydrocodone for my chronic pain, because of cut backs in production. I have chronic back pain, neuropathy in my feet, and fibromyalgia.. along with under control diabetes, and mild heart problems. I don't currently take any kidney medication.
I have decided to try marijuana brownies for pain control. But, I am wondering if it will accelerate my kidney disease? Please let me know... I am suffering with terrible pain. I'm not sure if I can ask my specialist... Thanks

There is not a lot of data on marijuana and causing kidney disease. I think it is reasonable to try for the back pain. Some strains are more potent, this is a reason to purchase from a reputable source.
