The facelift procedure is a surgical procedure that addresses the skin laxity of the lower third of the face and the neck. This is done via incisions around the ear, in the hairline line, and under the chin. With this procedure, we can remove extra skin from the lower face and jawline and improve the contour of the jawline and the neck. You do have significant improvement in the wrinkles of these areas however, a facelift procedure does not address fine wrinkles of the skin or wrinkles around the mouth, eyes, or forehead.
A lower ‘facelift’ can soften some lower face wrinkles and creases that are from laxity. It will not permanently eradicate them.
A facelift helps to minimize wrinkles by addressing the loose skin and tightening/removing the excess. If there is still significant wrinkles you may require a resurfacing laser that addresses wrinkles but not significant skin laxity.
A facelift will rejuvenate by restoring more youthful anatomy, fine lines or wrinkles can be addressed with laser or peels
