Surgeon Questions Fistulas

Does a fistula require surgery?

I have a fistula, and am wondering if I need surgery to have this fixed?

Sometimes, yes.
A fistula does require surgical intervention but what surgery depends upon how much of your sphincter may be involved. Discuss this with your colon and rectal Surgeon.
On occasion, a rectal fistula is due to a source from the bow. In instances like that, the underlying disease like her Crohn’s disease should be treated initially and the fistula should be managed medically.
A fistula is an abnormal connection between an internal structure and the skin. Need to know what type of fistula; they can be from an infection or other causes. The short answer is probably yes, but need more information to know for sure.
No, you do not have to have surgery. Wheatgrass extract is the best thing that I have found that works. It takes about 4 to 5 weeks in most cases to clear up. Go to Dr. Chris Reynolds, a.k.a. Dr. Wheatgrass; his web address is www.fissureremedy.com. Read what he says on his site and you should do fine.

I wish you the very best,
