I am not aware that depression ages the brain.

Even though there is no direct correlation between aging and depression have been fully established, but studies have shown that people with chronic depression die earlier than control group. Plus one should keep in mind that depression is an inflammatory disease of the brain and it may affect the brain cells in adversely.
