“Does heel spur need treatment?”
I have a heel spur. Does heel spur need treatment?

Heel spurs that do not hurt do not need any treatment. Heel pain is typically a result of plantar fasciitis. A heel spur can be present with plantar fasciitis, but the pain is not caused from the heel spur and only the plantar fasciitis needs to be treated.
Heel spurs do not hurt. Plantar fasciitis hurts. I recommend never having surgery. Read about heel pain on my website for more info as to what I recommend
Heel spurs actually reduce stress on the plantar fascia because they involve bone that adds length to the fascial system. They should not be treated or touched if possible.]
Treatment should involved the ligament itself and other soft tissues.
In fact removal of a heel spur does reduce the pain but it weakens the support of the arches of the foot leaving that foot weaker and a poorer performer
