General Practitioner Questions Dog Bite

Dog bite

I was walking my dog two days ago and it got into a fight with another dog owned by my neighbor. The dog was off it’s leash and my arm got caught in the crossfire. Not sure who the accidental bite came from, possibly my dog. No blood and from what I can tell it did not puncture the skin. Just a bit of a bruise and red marks. Do I need to get a rabies vaccine? My dog has been vaccinated but not sure my neighbors dog has.

When the bite does not break the skin, there is no danger, especially when the dog that bit you has been vaccinated. A rabid dog is not something to take lightly, but it is very rare these days. If you are not suspicious of either dog being rabid, just forget it.
Please find out if the dog has been vaccinated. If they have been vaccinated no need to get Rabies vaccination
