Elbow pain?

I slipped on ice and fell hard yesterday, I caught myself with my left hand. I felt the impact in my hand and in my left elbow, which never hit the ground, my hand is fine but my elbow is getting worse. Over the course of the day it got so sore I had trouble extending my arm and I can’t put any pressure on it at all i.e. pushing a door open. What happened and what can I do to help it heal faster?

You may have a radial neck fracture. I would see your PCP. You should get X-rays.
Based on your description of what happened, it's possible that you have suffered a Radial neck fracture. Most of the time there is nothing to do for it and it heals on its own but you should definitely see an orthopedic surgeon for x-rays to make sure.
Hard to know without looking at your elbow. However, it might be nothing OR it might be a torn triceps tendon (extends your elbow) or you may have a fracture even. Take advil - 3 tablets with each meal. Ice it. See an orthopedic surgeon for an exam and X-ray if you don't get better in the next 2-3 days.
Hope it helps!!

Sounds like could be a serious injury. I would recommend as soon as possible to be evaluated by a qualified physician. X-ray should be obtained. I would be concerned about a possible fracture. Usually initial treatment if the fracture is ruled out is using icing, a sling and anti-inflammatories.
