Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia

Is Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia a real condition? I have seen 5 different doctors this week and none of them have even mentioned this condition even though all my symptoms are saying I have this. I’m in terrible pain have been since Wednesday. I need help but no one will help me

Conditions: Severe pain in the back left hand side of my throat every 6-10 mins starting 4 am every morning

It could be glossopharyngeal neuralgia among others ( trigeminal , vasculitis , temporal arteritis , etc. ). You need to see a neurologist and get imaging studies ( MRI scan ), blood work and a detailed history and physical examination.  Some conditions are relatively benign while others are much more serious and need urgent attention. Glossopharyngeal neuralgia is a real condition, though it is unclear to me whether your symptoms fit the diagnosis. I would encourage that you see a neurologist if you have not yet done so.

Yes. Glossopharyngeal neuropathy is real. It consists of electrical type pain usually in the neck or jaws and episodes of loosing consciousness. The fainting and pain can be together or separated. The usual treatment is the same as is used for facial neuralgia: oxcarbazine or carbamazepine.
