3 possibilities
1- stomach ulcer with bleeding
2- medications like iron or pepto
3- eating large amounts of Spinach at once
May potential reasons, including (but not limited to): upper-mid GI tract bleeding, Pepto Bismol, iron-containing meds/OTCs, activated charcoal, blood ingestion (blood sausage, raw/undercooked meats, vampire) [just kidding]... Stool occult blood testing/FIT test with your PCP can easily be done with CBC.
Black stools can mean upper GI bleeding. Have the stool tested or check for anemia on a blood test as the first steps.
