Sotalol can cause a cough in certain patients with reactive lung disease, i.e., asthma, otherwise not a common side effect. Other causes should be investigated such as reflux, allergies, and CHF. Some patients may go into a-fib and that triggers a reflex to cough in an attempt to restore normal sinus rhythm. Need a thorough systematic work-up for your cough before stopping any medication.
It is not typical to have sinus drainage and cough from metoprolol. I would recommend seeing your primary care provider for evaluation.
