He says that i am probably asymptomatic carrier. if so why he did not the herpes ulcers during the 3 years we are together having sex? How is this possible? Before having unprotected sex we both tested negative for HIV and Hepatitis C.

It is possible that he may have been exposed to herpes prior to your relationship and has antibodies to herpes but never had an outbreak until the one you describe. He may have had an outbreak even prior to the one you left mentioned.

It is also possible that you have been exposed to herpes and have antibodies. The way you would assess whether or not you have antibodies is by seeing your doctor and having a blood test to look for the antibodies. You both need to determine whether or not you have antibodies.
If immunity is good, you might not break out even if exposed. You can get a blood test to see if you are a asymptomatic carrier.
Take care!
