You are a result forgiven in millimoles per liter. Not really all that difficult to translate, yet the results are as such: your total cholesterol is elevated and needs to be lowered; your HDL cholesterol, the good kind, is below normal, so it’s not cardio protective. Your LDL is elevated and your triglyceride levels are above normal. Your total cholesterol panel is off and not in the best way. Speak with your provider about your weight, body mass index, types of foods that you’re eating, activity level, and things that you can do to reduce your cardiovascular risk factors. It also would not be a bad idea to find out about a family history of cardiovascular disease, hyperlipidemia, etc. If the numbers do not improve in a short period of time, you’re going to need to be on a lipid-lowering agent. If you’re already on one, the dose needs to be upped, or the type needs to be changed.
