There will be several follow up visits after receiving dentures, each visit will alleviate sore spots. In the mean time just be patient and start with soft foods. Learning to use a denture is like learning to use a prosthetic leg, it takes lots of practice.
you have to check with your dentist, he may adjust the borders or the bite
A couple of reasons your dentures may hurt> You may have sore spots and need a denture adjustment - see your dentist.Your bite might be off and you need an adjustment - see your dentist.Your bone may have lost or gained weight, so your dentures don't fit properly. You need to see your dentist.Your jawbone may have reabsorbed so your denture no longer fits properly. Your denture may need to be relined or redone - see your dentist.Good luck.
Call your dentist and get it checked, there may be a rough spot or you may need a reline of the inner surface of the denture.
