Mentally prepare yourself to lay flat for a long time. If allowed by doctor, eat two hours before test and use restroom so you're not hungry or uncomfortable during test. Feel empowered to ask for music or headphones to distract while in exam. Make sure all metal/body piercings and jewelry are removed prior to arrival. Discuss with your doctor if you have anxiety and stay as still as possible. If you need to cough or move, let the technologist know before it happens so they can offer reassurance/timeframe of how far along you are in each image/study. If you know you will need to break up your test due to physical restrictions, speak with your provider before arriving for long test day.
