You need to know the cause of the pain before you can relieve it as there are many causes each with different treatments.
The ankle needs to be X-rayed and you need to see a podiatrist.

You should be seen and examined. An MRI may be necessary to help diagnose.
Usually an ankle brace will work well as well as proper tennis shoes which are rigid as opposed to flexible
Have a doctor take a look at that.
This is really no way for me to answer this question simply, because there is a number of different causes to ankle pain. It could be caused by arthritis of the ankle joint or another joint nearby, it could be due to prior injury and/or instability, and could even be due to foot position and poor shoe gear and lack of support, just to name a couple. My recommendation is to be seen by foot and ankle expert who can fully assess your foot and ankle condition to determine the causes of the ankle joint pain. There is no way to just say how to get rid of it without knowing what is the underlying cause.
See a foot/ankle specialist for evaluation.

No high heels, flip-flops, or sandals. Wear only lace up running type shoes with soft arch support. Achilles’ tendon stretches and ice baths after extensive time walking or on your feet for any activity. Arnica gel can be applied 3-4x per day without any side effects.
It depends on why you have ankle pain. Is it arthritis? A chronic ligament sprain or tear? An osteochondral defect of your talus or tibial plafind? Or perhaps it’s a tendon issue around the ankle, and the joint isn’t involved, at all? The only way to know how to treat your pain is for you to see a specialist and have the issue properly evaluated.
Dear Ankle Pain,

There are many things that can cause ankle pain, i.e., bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves; activity level, body weight, previous injuries, and many other factors can also cause or add to the pain. It would be best to get checked out thoroughly by a Podiatrist in your local area. There are as many treatments as there are causes.

Ankle pain can have multiple causes. I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) to determine the cause of your pain and the appropriate treatment options
The cause must be determined first.
