This is not a simple question to answer given that I know nothing about your spine and your health history. There is a multitude of factors that need to be considered and it would be best to take advantage of a complimentary consultation offered by a doctor of chiropractic to that you
have been referred to. You can also educate yourself by using resources available at your library on the subject of spinal health. Good luck and good health!
Proper posture and ergonomics are always a great place to start! Of course, a "blueprint" or xray can show us what the structure looks like and then we have a baseline for care. Some things just don't straighten on their own, but we can help!
I don't straighten spines, or force certain curves into the spine , but rather give my patients specific corrective adjustments to improve alignment of their spine which will improve function and performance.
The spine itself is bone and ligaments. That cannot be strengthened but the muscles supporting it can. I'm a fan of planks and a program called Foundation Training which you can find on YouTube
