Allergic rhinitis is a symptom. With TCM we treat the whole person. We would need to look at the underlying condition that allows allergic rhinitis to occur. Acupuncture can lessen the symptoms but the underlying condition must also be treated or the symptoms will not go away permanently. There can be many underlying reasons for this condition. An acupuncturist will have to do a proper diagnosis and analysis to know how best to treat the condition.
Hello and thank you for your question. Allergic Rhinitis may be treated very successfully with a combination of acupuncture and herbal remedies. If this is a chronic seasonal issue, it may also be prevented by getting treatments prior to the allergy season. This is very successful when done 3-6 weeks prior on a weekly basis. Acupuncture works great with all sinus issues. In my clinic we use this, coupled with Moxa, and even Chinese herbal formulas to clear out the sensitivity to allergens. It takes time And dedication for consistency, but it can be done
Acupuncture can help to reduce the inflammation along the lining of the sinuses. Oriental Medicine can help to restore the natural balance by treating the underlying causative factor of the chronic allergic rhinitis. Alexandre Hillairet, DAOM. You can heat your eyes and nose with a hair dryer until it is unobstructed.
Acupuncture and herbs can help with allergic rhinitis by reducing inflammation.
Yes , there are acupuncture treatments for that that will be tailored to you after the consultation
What are you allergic to? You will have to find out WHY. I would recommend you to talk to your doctor, preferably naturopathic physician or functional medical doctor or acupuncturist to help you out.

I do not know. I suspect it might help.
The first step is to identify the cause of the rhinitis, as if you're constantly exposed to the thing you are allergic to, we would be doing a maintenance protocol rather than a cure. However, if the cause is identifies, we can take steps to mediate exposure to the culprit, and talk about how to reduce the symptoms of the rhinitis.
There are many ways to treat allergic rhinitis with acupuncture and herbs. It will no doubt require a series of treatments, but it will be worth it in the long run.
One of the things that have been fairly consistent in acupuncture studies is acupuncture's ability to reduce systemic inflammation. Exactly how acupuncture is doing this is still largely unknown, but acupuncture's ability to reduce inflammation is well documented. Since allergic rhinitis is an inflammatory condition driven by allergens interacting with the nasal mucosa, acupuncture's ability to down-regulate the immune system and reduce this inflammatory process is probably sitting at the root of acupuncture's ability to help relieve allergic rhinitis.
