How do you feed a baby that refuses a bottle?

My baby is 3 months old. I want to know how do you feed a baby that refuses a bottle?

1 Answer

When a baby refuses a bottle, it is because 1. They are not hungry. If that is the case (in other words, they have eaten in the past 3-4 hours), then do not force the issue. When they are hungry, they will eat. 2. If this is a breast fed baby, and doesn’t want the bottle, but rather mom’s breast and breast milk. If that is the case, the infant will take the bottle, but will have to be several hours since the last feed and will be so hungry and thirsty that they will eat. 3. They are ill. Again, when the baby has enough time since the last feed, will get so hungry and thirsty that they will eat.
So, the infant will eventually eat, you just have to be very patient. This all, of course, assumes this is an otherwise healthy infant. Infants with underlying medical conditions may be a different story, and you will need to consult with your doctor.
