First, it's important to see an eye doctor if you think you have an infection as infections can have a variety of sources. Drops may be prescribed if appropriate.
If it’s bacterial , we use antibiotics and sometimes steroids for inflammation also.
There are many different types of eye infections affecting different parts of the eye. Depending on the site of the infection, drops, lid hygiene, oral medications and injections could be used for treatment.
