All infections are serious, and treatment will vary depending on the type of infection, location, and severity. It is important to see your dentist as soon as you discover a possible infection in or near the mouth.
You need to see a dentist to find out why you are getting the infection. It could be related to the fit of the denture or something else. If you can't get to see a dentist right away and the infection persists, you can leave the denture out as much as possible, and when the denture is in the mouth, eat softer, less chewy food.
