See a dentist
It depends on what the symptoms are caused by. By chewing? Hot/cold foods? Spontaneously? Shooting? Or throbbing pain? Generally, Ibuprofen is known to be the best dental pain relief given that there are no contraindications. Consult your physician to see if it is safe for you to take. Rinsing with lukewarm salt water twice a day helps temporarily. An over-the-counter Oragel or Orabase can also temporarily help.
Dear see an endodontist.
By either a root canal or extracting the tooth
It depends on what the cause of the pain is. To determine that, you need to see a dentist. There are several options to treat tooth pain, some are very simple, some are more complicated and expensive. The longer you wait, the more costly it could become.
