Speaking clearly can take time. The most common problem with speaking is making sure that your dentures fit. YOU HAVE A TISSUE SIDE THAT RESTS ON YOUR GUM TISSUE. OUR MOUTH TISSUES ARE SENSITIVE THAT A STRAND OF HAIR CAN BE FELT. IF YOUR TISSUES AND BONE SOCKETS ARE NOT HEALED, YOU MAY NEED AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE TISSUES SIDEOF YOUR DENTURE. YOU AND YOUR DENTIST HAVE TO BE PATIENT AND WORK TOGETHER. BEFORE YOU EVEN HAVE YOUR DENTURES PLACED IN YOUR MOUTH, TECHNICIANS AND DENTISTS FEEL THE TISSUE SIDE AND THE SIDE OF YOUR DENTURE THAT YOU FEEL WITH YOUR TONGUE AND CHEEKS ARE EXAMINED FOR ROUGH AND SHARP AREAS AND ARE POLISHED/SMOOTHED BEFORE BEING PLACED IN YOUR MOUTH. Your upper and lower dentures are checked so when you bring your U/L dentures together like when you chew, no area is having more pressure placed on the gum tissue. Any adjustments should be made by your dentist. It is Important that you have all adjustments done when you receive your dentures. EACH PATIENT IS DIFFERENT AND DENTIST AND PATIENT SHOULD WORK TOGETHER. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS YOU ARE GIVEN. EAT SOFT FOODS, KEEP YOUR DENTURES CLEAN. DENTURES SHOULD BE REMOVED AT NIGHT! DENTURES SHOULD BE BRUSHED, TISSUE SIDE AND THE SURFACE SIDE YOU SEE IN YOUR MOUTH. DENTURES SHOULD BE SOAKED OVERNIGHT. SOAKING IN CLEAN WATER; REMOVE ANY ADHESIVE BEFORE SOAKING. IF YOU ARE USING A SOAKING SOLUTION, CHANGE THE SOLUTION DAILY. THE PARTICLES OF DEBRI YOU SEE ON THE BOTTOM ARE
ROTTING FOOD PARTICLES. WARNING: DO NOT SOAK DENTURES IN ANY CHLORINE BLEACH (IT TURNS THE PINKISH PART WHITE). HYDROGEN PEROXIDE 3%--THE SMOOTH PINKISH AREA BECOMES ROUGH AND POROUS.

Hello,
If you have a quality, well made set of dentures, you should be able to talk clearly and chew your food properly. They should be tight and retentive and sometimes Poligrip or Fixident denture adhesive is needed if a little loose. Sometimes a denture reline will help, too, or on the more expensive aspect, implants. If they are a new set, practice reading and talking out loud when you are alone to help your facial muscles adapt to the newness of them.
Good luck.
