Local pain creams, since NSAIDS for knee pain actually harm the healing,
according to the J of Sports Medicine from 1996. There are exercises on you tube specific to recurrent knee dislocations. A runners knee band is also helpful.
Personally, I have not adjusted a dislocated patella.
However, I practice activator protocol which includes indicators to asses and correct a misaligned patella.
Yes. I would suggest seeing a corrective care chiropractic clinic that does x-rays and analyzes them prior to giving recommendations. If you were located close to Fenton Michigan check out painlessdc.com
You first should go to the emergency room to have it properly treated. After the knee is properly treated you would begin a rehabilitation process.
If your knee cap is a dislocation, then you need to go to get emergency medical care. Either at the Emergency Room or a Urgent care center. If it is a slight misalignment and not dislocated (subluxation), then a Chiropractic Physician can Adjusted the patella bone back in place. Best wishes in getting your knee dislocation treated quickly and effectively.
Thank you for your question. Yes, we use cold lasers for that type of problem. It sounds like you need an exam.
As a doctor of chiropractic, I do not treat kneecaps, but I will offer advice in hopes that it guides you through the process. You can go to your medical physician or consultant as soon as possible. The consultant will quickly put a dislocated kneecap back into position (referred to as
"reduction"). This may need to be performed under local or general anesthetic. Once the kneecap has been put back, you will need to rest the knee and use ice, compression, and elevation to control swelling. If strength and conditioning are required, then physical therapy may be recommended under such a medical consultant's guidance.

I would suggest getting checked out by an orthopedist first.
It is best to consult an orthopedic knee specialist.

Go set up an appointment with an orthopedist. You may have to get a brace for your knee. There is no treatment that can make the pain subside.
