How do you treat a gum infection under a dental bridge?

I have a gum infection under a dental bridge. What are the treatment options?

If the source of the infection is coming from the tooth holding the bridge (aka Abutment) then treating it will allow things to resolve, if it’s purely the gum tissue under the ‘false’ tooth of the bridge (aka Pontic) then gentle / accurate cleaning will resolve it (Waterpik’s are an excellent aid).
Use a bridge aid and floss, also a water pick may help.
Have your teeth been cleaned by the hygienist? Floss under the bridge with super floss. Use a water pick to flush under it.
