3-6 months
It depends on several factors such as:
1. infection
2. bone graft
3. medical history.
The answer to that question varies alot. I've had several implants myself. For front teeth, the implants can sometimes be placed when the tooth is removed. For back teeth, which usually have multiple roots, the Dr can fill the socket with graph material after tooth removal to keep the bone from shrinking as much. Multi-rooted teeth require longer wait time, but graphing the sockets does help with that. You have to ask your surgeon for specifics.
Every patient is different. Some patients can have immediate implants placed after an extraction and others need to wait for a healing period.
