It all depends on the mouthwash. Regular mouthwash you can drink immediately, a therapeutic mouthwash like Peridex( Clorahexidine) you should wait about 1/2 hour.
It is best practice to wait 10-15 minutes after using mouthwash to drink anytime to allow the mouthwash to accomplish the job of changing the bacterial flora in the mouth to the positive.
I would wait about 30 minutes before using water.
