I am a 20 year old male. I want to know how long does it take for a cold to turn into pneumonia?

A cold does not have to turn into a pneumonia. Most colds do not. Nevertheless the cold itself usually lasts 7-10 days. So in general if the symptoms of a cold seem to improve but a person feels worse again 7-10 days after the cold onset 1 should suspect a pneumonia or other complications.
Up to 10 days. If you develop chills and fever, run to the doctor right away.
