How long does it take for a tendon to heal after surgery?

I am a 38 year old male. I want to know how long does it take for a tendon to heal after surgery?

It depends. If the tendon was torn in two and sewn together, then it could take 3-4 months to heal because tendons heal slowly. If the tendon tore off of the bone and was repaired to bone, then 6-8 weeks for healing.

On average, six months.
There are multiple tendons in the body so your question needs to be more specific. It is a partial or complete tear? If it is a complete tear requiring surgical repair based on scientific studies full strength of the tendon is not gained until one year. That is why see athletes that tear and major tendon are out for one year from their sport.
Not easy to answer scientifically. I avoid weight bearing through repaired tendons for 3-4 months, then strength months 4-6. Full activity is allowed at 6 months
