The recovery is 24 hours. You can go back to work after 24 hours unless your healthcare provider tells you otherwise. Also, you can return to all your normal activities after two to three days after the procedure. Thank you.
If it is needle biopsy, you should be fine in a day or two.

The recommended time for observation in the hospital is 24 hours bedrest. Vital signs need to be observed q15 minutes for half hour. CBC is done BP<140/90 mmHg and make sure there is no bleeding and follow up with the doctor after 24 hours.
Recovery from kidney biopsy is usually 24 hrs. But one has stay cautious for about 1 week with no strenuous physical activity. However, if one is on blood thinners, these have to be stopped for about 5-7 prior to the biopsy depending on the blood thinner. Also, if someone has tendency to bleed, cautionary measures need to be discussed with the health care team prior to doing the kidney biopsy.
-6-8 hours of bed rest
-24 hours no physical activity
-72 hours no extreme exercises
