Depends on the ligament. For ACL full healing(eg. Full Sports performance 1 year, walking without cane approximately 3 to 6 weeks. Many factors including your fitness and pain tolerance can affect the rehab schedule.
For a ligament reconstruction to heal can take 4 months, but to regain & build up muscle strength & endurance in order to return to play or sports may take 8-12 months - you need 85-90% strength of operative leg compared to non operative leg to safely return to sports/play.
Totally depends on the ligaments repaired, the pre-surgical health and conditioning of the patient. An athletic 24 yo will have a shorter time than a non athletic 35 yo unacquainted with exercise & conditioning. For example,10-14 weeks is a minimum for ACL reconstruction for example and even the best athlete will continue to work hard at rehabilitation for up to 6 months.
Depends on the knee ligament that had surgery on average 6-9 months.
Recovery varies greatly based on the type of surgery. That question is best answered by your surgeon.
